Welcome to the Rollingdale Winery Blog :)
I hope everyone has been enjoying the Spring Wine Festival thus far. We had a great time pouring at The WestJet Wine Tastings which were another great success this weekend - a wonderful way to kick off the 10 glorious days of wine tasting. The fun does not stop there, be sure to make your reservations for our Astronomical Wine & Star Gazing Event which will be held this Wednesday, May 9th at our winery. By phone (250) 769-9224 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
For more information regarding this event please go to our 'Events' page.
Spring Okanagan Wine Festival is close approaching. May 3 - May 13, 2012. The Okanagan is the place you need to be during that week if you would like to try some of the best wines in the Valley. Sharpen up your wine knowledge by attending the wine events and tastings. You will not only find your favorite wines but you will be able to mark your favorite wineries and keep in touch with the Okanagan Valley.
Please have a look at our Events Page where we have posted and will be continuing to post all of our Events that we are either hosting or attending. We will be releasing new wines, white & red and you will surely want to be here to try them!!
We will be releasing a few selections of red wine very soon. We are finishing the bottling of our new left and right: "La Gauche" 2009 Cab Sauv and "La Droite" 2009 Merlot. We have already bottled the 2009 Pinot Noir. Lastly, there is a beautiful non-vintage red wine we are calling 'Pinocchio'. It will surely tickle your tastebuds.
Surprise marriage proposal at Rollingdale. A couple was planning a trip to Rollingdale Winery for their 5th dating anniversary. They had been to Rollingdale for their 1st anniversary and returned every year since. Before arriving, the man mailed in a custom label to us with a picture of himself holding a sign saying "Will You Marry Me?" with instructions. After their wine tasting, Katey showed her this extra bottle. Joe had a camera, hidden out of sight, waiting. Watch what happened here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3Z7_eLSV40
Our neighbour's donkey has befriended our dog and is starting to be a regular visitor at our cellar. Today she snuck inside while our backs were turned. I guess she wants to help out. At least we hope that's what she wants because we are pretty sure she is underage.
