Alarming forests fires quickly spread in West Kelowna in mid July.  The air was thick with smoke and evacuactions were in process.   The fire fighters quickly took the situation under control.  While the fire in nearby Fintry is still very worrisome, West Kelowna is a safe area to visit.    The wine industry was lightly affected.   Rollingdale is open with regular summer hours.  10a.m. - 6p.m.  Monday through Sunday.  Fire updates can be checked at www.westsidetourism.com/traveltips-display.php .  Highway updates can be checked at: www.drivebc.ca .  Wishing you a safe and happy summer!
